Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The most anticipated game in years has finally been released, the fifth installment in the Elder Scrolls series...Skyrim. Let me start off by saying if you have not picked up this game yet, you should probably add it to your christmas list. I promise you will not regret that decision.

The Elder Scrolls series has always brought us very open and explorable environments, and in Skyrim they have brought it to a whole new level. At times you will be absolutely astonished the graphics Bestheda has put into this game. You will not find a piece of this game that does not have detail. Nothing compares to standing on top of large mountain top in this game and looking at the whole environment. Every place and thing you can see is discoverable. With over 200 locations to discover in the brand new world of Skyrim, you virtually never run out of things to do.

If you're looking for lots of quests, then that is what you will find in Skyrim. I have put over 60+ hours into this game yet, and accomplished well over 200 quests, with plenty more to come. The time and effort put into each individual quests story line amazes me. Each quest has its own individual feel to it, some will take only 10 minutes to complete while others could take over an hour. The one thing I really enjoy about Skyrim's quests is that none of them have a "grind" feel to them, as quite a few RPG games do.

One thing that impresses me quite a bit about Skyrim is the sounds. Every single NPC you meet has at least three different statements, and with about 60 percent of the NPCs you can actually have multiple choice conversations with. Even the animals, from the rabbits to the mammoths, make noises.  The Skyrim soundtrack also fits the scenery and situations so well.

Skyrim has a complete real life system. They have included several new character options to use, like chopping wood to make some extra money. You can cook up meals for you character to gain health, or build up your mining skills deep in the shafts to gather ore to work on your blacksmithing skills. Your personality affects everything from prices from the merchants to persuading people with your speech skills.

Skyrim is a game you can invest over 150 hours into and still have plenty to do. If you're looking for a game that you can invest time into, have complete free roam, and your own video game life, this is for you. Skyrim is gonna keep you filled with many adventures, entertaining moments, and brilliant battle scenes.

More to Come...
